Tan Sri Dato’ Sri SA. Vigneswaran is a prominent Malaysian politician and leader of the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC). After the MIC’s poor performance in the 2018 General Election, he stepped in as president, unopposed, at a critical time. Vigneswaran, the son of the late Sannasee, a former MIC member, has a long history of community service, particularly through the MIC Youth and the Malaysian Indian Youth Development Foundation (MIYDF), which he founded. He was elected as the Member of Parliament for Kota Raja and appointed Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Tan Sri President has been active in humanitarian efforts, including aid missions to Palestine, Sri Lanka, and India, earning recognition as Ambassador for Peace. He served as the 17th President of the Senate, advocating for a reformed Dewan Negara. In 2021, he was appointed as the 9th Prime Minister’s Special Envoy to India and South Asia. Vigneswaran was also named First Pro-Chancellor, and later Chancellor, of AIMST University. A staunch believer in strengthening Malaysia-India relations, he has contributed to both countries’ bilateral ties. He authored the book Redemption of Indian Dignity in 2009.

YB Dato’ Seri S.Vell Paari

Senator

Dato’ Seri S. Vell Paari is a senior Malaysian politician and prominent leader within the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC). He has served as Vice President of MIC and held key party positions including Secretary General and Treasurer General. Since September 2020, he has been a Senator appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and was reappointed in 2023. He is also a member of the Dewan Negara Select Committee on Integrity and Anti-Corruption Governance.

Born in 1962, Vell Paari is the son of the late Tun S. Samy Vellu, former MIC president and federal minister. He holds the honorific title Dato’ Seri, awarded through the Grand Knight of the Order of Sultan Ahmad Shah of Pahang (SSAP). Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in advancing the interests of the Malaysian Indian community and strengthening MIC’s role in national politics. His leadership reflects a commitment to governance, community development, and political integrity within Malaysia’s multiethnic landscape.

YB Dato’ C.Sivaraj

Senator

Dato’ C. Sivaraj is a Malaysian politician and Senator appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong since March 2023. He is a prominent member of the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC), having served as MIC Youth Chief from 2013 to 2018 and as a Vice President of the party. Dato’ Sivaraj was the Member of Parliament for Cameron Highlands in 2018 until the election was annulled later that year.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Malaya and has a strong background in entrepreneurship. He is the founder of the MIC Youth Disaster Aid Centre (MYDAC) and the Malaysian Indian Youth Consultative Council (MIYCC), organizations dedicated to community assistance and youth empowerment. Throughout his career, Dato’ Sivaraj has been actively engaged in advancing the socio-economic interests of the Malaysian Indian community and contributing to national political discourse.

YB Tan Sri Datuk Dr. Mohamed Hanniffa Bin Abdullah

Senator

Tan Sri Datuk Dr. Mohamed Haniffa Bin Abdullah is a distinguished Malaysian medical doctor, educator, and public servant. He is the founder, Pro-Chancellor, and Executive Chairman of MAHSA University, which he established in 2004 with a vision to develop a center of excellence in healthcare education. Under his leadership, MAHSA has grown into a leading institution offering a broad range of programs in health sciences and other fields, serving over 10,000 students across multiple campuses.

In addition to his contributions to education, Tan Sri Haniffa has served as Chairman of the Social Security Organization (PERKESO) and is currently a Senator in the Malaysian Parliament, appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong since September 2022. His career also includes medical practice, military service, and leadership in public health initiatives.

He has been recognized with several national honors, including the Panglima Setia Mahkota (PSM) – Tan Sri, Panglima Jasa Negara (PJN) – Datuk, and Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP) – Dato’. His lifelong dedication to healthcare, education, and public service marks him as a key figure in Malaysia’s development in these sectors.

YB Datuk Seri M.Saravanan

Deputy President

YB Datuk Seri M.Saravanan is a distinguished Malaysian politician and a dedicated leader within the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC). He has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tapah since March 2008, consistently working to uplift his constituents and the Malaysian Indian community. Datuk Seri Saravanan held the position of Minister of Human Resources for two consecutive terms-first under the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration led by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (March 2020–August 2021), and subsequently in the Barisan Nasional (BN) government under Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (August 2021–October 2022).

Prior to these roles, he was the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports in the BN administration of Dato’ Sri Najib Tun Razak, where he championed youth development and sports initiatives. Renowned for his leadership, vision, and commitment to public service, Datuk Seri Saravanan continues to advocate for progressive policies, workers’ rights, and community empowerment. His dedication and tireless efforts have made a significant impact on national development and the welfare of the Malaysian Indian community.
