The Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) has stepped forward with RM15,000 in support of photographer Tinesh Sritharan, enabling him to pursue his assignment with the National Geographic Society to document the Great Migration at Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve.
Despite the challenges of preparing for such a significant journey, Tinesh will now fly out this weekend to begin his project, Echoes of the Savannah, with the full support of MIC behind him.
An FMT article, cited by YB Senator Dato’ C. Sivaraj, brought the matter to the attention of MIC President Tan Sri S.A. Vigneswaran yesterday afternoon. MIC responded swiftly, reaffirming its commitment to uplifting and empowering Malaysians striving to excel on the world stage. All this was accomplished in less than three hours of Tinesh meeting with Tan Sri S.A. Vigneswaran.
“This is a proud moment. Tinesh’s journey reflects the resilience of our youth, and MIC is honoured to help him carry the Malaysian spirit internationally,” said Tan Sri S.A. Vigneswaran as he presented the cheque to the young Malaysian.
