The MIC Youth Wing, together with various non-governmental organizations and Makkal Sakthi, participated in a solidarity rally and memorandum submission at the Bangladesh Embassy in Malaysia. This initiative was led by MIC Youth Leader Arvind Krishnan and Deputy MIC Youth Leader Kesavan Kandasamy.
The rally was held to express unwavering support for the victims of injustice, violence and oppression in Bangladesh, particularly the Hindu and other minority communities. MIC Youth stands firm in its belief that religious freedom, human dignity and justice are universal values that must be upheld without compromise.
In the memorandum submitted, MIC Youth urged the Government of Bangladesh to take immediate, effective and sustained action to end the systemic violence against minorities. The appeal emphasizes the importance of creating an environment where every citizen, regardless of religion, can live in peace, safety and dignity.
The statement also cautioned that failure to act decisively not only endangers the lives and livelihoods of millions, but also risks undermining Bangladesh’s credibility on the global stage as a democratic nation that upholds pluralism and human rights.
MIC Youth remains hopeful that the submission will serve as a catalyst for meaningful reform and protection of minority rights. Special thanks are extended to all youth members who took part in the submission, as well as to MIC President Tan Sri Dato Sri Dr SA Vigneswaran and MIC Deputy President Datuk Seri M Saravanan for their continued support and guidance in championing causes that protect and uplift vulnerable communities.
